This painting was supposed to be an abstract one, but in between all these layers of paint that I put and removed, suddenly Olivia - the turtle appeared in the clear blue and turquoise water. For me she is like a symbol of the fragility of the ecosystem of this world.
It has multilayer of paint coats of acrylic paint on canvas what makes this work highly textural. The canvas is stretched over professionally made wooden stretcher bars.
