This atmospheric oil painting presents a dreamlike landscape in a fascinating colour composition of blue and violet tones. The surreal, nocturnal scene stems from reality, but nevertheless transports the viewer into a mystical world. The silhouettes of trees can be recognised in the foreground, which are painted in deep blue tones and stand out against a violet sky. The central element of the picture is a striking purple tree in the centre of the composition. This shape rises up and almost seems to glow, giving it a supernatural presence. Overall, the picture creates an atmosphere of calm and at the same time mysterious tension. It invites the viewer to immerse themselves in this seemingly mystical landscape and find their own interpretations. I wonder if there is a ghost somewhere! The oil on velvet technique is very rarely used as it is very time-consuming and difficult.
Born 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland, first exhibition 2003, in 2006 I began to paint oil colour on velvet. I like to play with the structure from the velvet. There is a special effect on the painting with velvet.
