El Carnaval Veneziano es una de las fiestas mas importantes de esta ciudad, tal vez la mas popular .Una fiesta muy significativa donde estos personajes pintorescos , misteriosos y bellos se mueven y recorren Venezia durante el periodo de Carnaval, dándole un clima de fantasia a esta ciudad.

Ridi Pagliaccio es una famosa aria para tenor de la ópera Pagliacci, de Ruggiero Leoncavallo. Vesti la Giubba es el final del primer acto, donde el payaso Canio (Pagliaccio) descubre la infidelidad de su esposa, pero se ha de preparar para un espectáculo que debe continuar.
