Catedral Primada de América, Zona Colonial, Sto. Dgo.
America's First Cathedral
Su construcción formal se inició en marzo de 1523 bajo la dirección del Arzobispo Geraldini y se completó alrededor del año 1541. En febrero 12 de 1546, a petición de Carlos V, el Papa Pablo III le concedió el status de Catedral Metropolitana y Primada de las Indias. Se caracteriza por sus sólidas paredes y sus tres puertas, dos de ellas góticas en contraste con la tercera y principal de estilo plateresco.
