Forty years into his career, Jorge Alvarez's work is as vibrant and urgent as ever. His latest series finds inspiration in the teachings and iconography of Buddhism, Christianity, and astrophysics. Out of this improbable mix, powerful compositions come forth seamlessly mixing realism with abstraction, while playing with color and demonstrating the virtuosity of an old master.
