Artwork description

La Pedrera (también conocida por Casa Milá) es una de las obras más importantes de Antonio Gaudí. Construida entre 1906 y 1910, su fachada, que semeja un gran precipicio, se ondula sobre la confluencia de dos calles como si se tratara de un edificio aislado. Los grandes bloques de piedra que conforman el revestimiento exterior fueron tallados en el mismo lugar de la construcción dándoles una textura rugosa de piedra natural.
El nombre ("cantera", en castellano) le viene de los comentarios despectivos que hacían los vecinos sobre su aspecto.
