Los mayas utilizaban en sus ritos incensarios ricamente ornamentados, donde quemaban el incienso o copal. A veces estas obras de arte eran utilizadas como ofrendas en la construcción de importantes edificios, donde eran enterradas o incorporadas a sus muros. Muchos de los incensarios encontrados en las excavaciones del centro ceremonial de Palenque, representan al Dios del Sol, Kinish Ahau, caracterizado por sus grandes ojos y nariz aguileña. Otros, como éste, muestran retratos naturalistas de personajes importantes o de la nobleza maya.
Armando Romero Gomez was born on August 6, 1979 in Villahermosa, Tabasco, where he lives and works. He began drawing at a very young and with the help of their parents began to understand the basics of drawing.
