Virginia Maury. Mexican artist. Born in Mexico city in 1972. Studied archaeology in Mexico city from 1990-1995 . She began to dedicate her self professionally to painting in 1996, leaving her previous profession aside.
Acording to the artist’s own words, “painting is not only for the artist to express his inner visions, it is for the observer to open his own visions; therein lies the social work of painting and of art in general “.
Since then, she has participated in collective and individual exhibitions in Mexico and Europe. She has also collaborated as a designer in theater productions in Mexico. In her foray into the artistic field, she has also become interested in illustration, working on the creation of a comic strip called “Cosas de monos “ for a magazine for 2 years (1997-1998)
Currently resides in Baja California Sur, Mexico
