Giunta di Capitino, also known as Giunta da Pisa or Giunta Pisano, was an Italian painter active in Pisa between 1241 and 1254. In his poignant images of the crucified Christ, a deep influence of Byzantine expressionism is manifested (Santa Maria degli Angeli in Assisi, and Santo Spirito in Pisa). His masterpiece is the imposing Crucifix (1250) in the left transept of the Basilica of Saint Dominic in Bologna.
